check engine light has returned

ok so i knew i had a cel but i had reset the ecu and i felt stupid because i wanted to make sure my car was ok. the light came on while driving to work and i checked it about 5 mins ago
3 4 which is knock sensor, i purchased one because i figured it wouldnt hurt to change it

and 10 5 which is EGRC Solenoid valve. i dont know what that even is. im currently searching thru the forums to find more information on it. what are side effects of this not being replaced? scale of 1-10 on changing it and where should i order or buy the part from . thanks in advance

I would change the KS first, then reset the ECU and see if you've still got the other code.

It goes the other way around.

Fix the egr issue and see if the ks code comes back.

To the op - search the forums for your error code. There are lots of threads that may help you out.

To save money you may want to try bypassing the KS with a resistor (lots of articles on it using search) before spending un-necessary money on EGR stuff

QFT. Often, the KS is a dummy piggyback code. Annoying as hell.

The egr solenoid valve is a solenoid that controls vacuum that operates the egr valve. It is located near the back side of the front cylinder head. It has a vacuum line going to it, and another going to the egr valve. Replace the solenoid first. You may have a bad knock sensor, but your main problem is with the vacuum solenoid.
