wats da problem

Wats up members. I just bought a 97 and da owner said it overheated and da motor locked up. How would I know if its an easy fix or a motor swap? Any ideas is a plus

In order for an engine to lock up due to it overheating, it has to run for a while that way, and in the process, blew a head gasket and probably hydrolocked the engine. Unless you get the car for dirt cheap and plan on replacing the engine, I wouldn't bother with it.

You would be insane to tear down that old motor and try to rebuild it...Just get a new VQ30 they are cheap!
