man i'm fed up!
I need some help maybe just moral support at this time so.. bought a 99 cali ,converted, removed 2 secondary o'2 and replaced it witha o2 sim(double) had still the codes for it and the car still drove fine. Now for the new issue. mechanic found a blown o'2 fuse and replaced it, chk engine for 4 codes for the o2's went away BUT now when i floor it i get back and forth rpm needle jump beween 3.5k -4.5 k about. and i hear knocking. check engine light strts to flash sometimes turnes solid. the codes i've gotten so far were( random cylinder misfire, generic voltage problem in the o'2 circuitry, then sometimes precise codes for misfire in cyl1,cyl5. WTF all that was changed was the fuse.
have fed spec y-pipe,00vi installed with safc 2 controlling it. all settings for fuel trims are at zero at this point, cause at minus 1 at higher rpms the car when floored would feel like its not getting enough fuel and misfires would be felt at those times more frequently.
what can i do (burning at this point is not an option)selling(i doubt someone would buy it) and quiet frankly i wouldn't sell it ,wouldn't want this type of enjoyed, aspirated driving passed onto someone else. HELP! what could it be???

i have no tech support for this but i have moral support lol.
keep on trucking, i'm on the same page with you with my 4th gen. i've replaced so much stuff on it (due to the previous owner treating it like crap) that i could of used that cash towards impressive mods. but think of it this way, at least you dont have a car payment. we have old cars and their age is howing (especially mine since it has 265+K mi)...

good idea
. i pulled out my 5th coil and the rubber piece was left inside took me half hour to pull it out. replaced just that rubber since it seemed that the coil was never tighly connected to that rubber piece. when i pulled it out it had some cuts on it not from me tugging on it, i pulled it with a hook by piercing it's side. once replaced and WOT'd i got a code p301. and also a loud knock once it hit 6500 rpm or so. on to the next coil .. brb
thanks for all the help so far

so i drank! somehow.. when i went to change my spark plugs they were gapped at about 50-51. although when i gapped them before installing they were .044 i rechecked each one and almost all 6 had the aforementioned gappings wtf?! like twilight zone movie, i drove 6 months on a jerky car cause little cremlin "prolly me" since it defies all logic how all spark plugs regapped themselves. i feel dumber then that lady who jumped over the counter to mess with mcdonald empoyee and got the short end of the stick. maaan, thank you guys for all your help. so far no sudden jerks, stumbles, thuds at idling speeds. i feel my maxima is alive again and is fun to drive! going to fill up tommorow and WOTAD ! hope it lasts ...

i use ngk's copper ones. And yes they were pregapped at .042 about. I left it at that and the car is fine as of right now, cause when i gapped them before at .044 they were pulled out measuring .051 go figure i say and will stay in denial that i gapped them wrong.

I made a thread about this a while ago, when I pulled my coil pack out to change the spark plugs the boot get stuck on the spark plug. And I tried for like an hour just fishing it out, then I get desperate and sprayed some WD-40 down the hole used a hanger to finally pull the boot out.
When you pulled out your coil packs were the boots cracked? I had a misfire problem not long ago and I pulled out my coil packs and saw that 3 of them had small-large cracks down the side so I changed the boots and everything has been good since. I cheaped out and took a chance to see if it was hopefully a cheap fix and I got lucky
