I want complete 2 and half inch exhaust system for my 99 max!

I want a good USA type quality headers, y-pipe, catalytic converter, b-pipe(resinator) and muffler for my car. Don't want to go chinese. Stillen tells me they are out of production! i'm on a list w/ cattman for the headers, y-pipe, and catalytic converter. That are supposed to go into production in late february early march. BUT NO CATBACK! He says if he can get 9 more orders(maybe less because three others like me who have ordered the head to converter are 4th gen owners and may also order catback) he will make the catback for us as well! Call brian at 520 575-5542 mon-fri 9-5 mountain time. Wher can i go other than here for a quality exhaust sytem from header to muffler tip?

Cattman is your only option there for American full exhaust. You could get the Cattman headers, a warpspeed y-pipe and get a local shop to weld you up cat back

If your worried about supporting US economy, Your driving the wrong car. If you are only worried about giving your money to China, I'm sure there are other countries making exhaust systems. Personally I would buy components I liked and have it put together locally using mandrel bends.

Forget Cattman. Give Warpspeed a call. Check your PM as well.

Edit: Start at post #413, then skip on to 459 and read on....

Check out this awesome fitment on this 3" Oh, and FWIW, my 2.5" Cattman is only 1/4" further away from the trailing arm..still a problem. 3 Cattman catbacks, 3 problems.

Warspeed only makes Y-pipe and catalytic converter now!

Heard there have been issues w/ that 3 inch cattman w/ some of the members. didn't quite understand the 3 for 3 thread. Could you be more specific on details. You know the devil's always in the details. The word i heard is that the chinese headers are hard as hell to make fit. the quality is also poor. I'm just relaying from prvious threads i've read.

I have one Cattman's 2.5" catback and two Cattman 3" systems, hence "3 for 3". All systems fit very poorly. The 2.5" system is only a lick better because it's 1/4" away further from the trailing arm and bangs less.

Regarding OBX: Fitment was really poor in the past, but recent members claim that fitment is much better. It isn't perfect by any means, but drilling the holes a little big is all it takes to make the headers bolt up.

Gains from headers vs just a ypipe is minimal. Unless your boosted, I don't see the point in spending a large amount of money and time on headers anyway.

Get a warpspeed ypipe, and buy a nice used Greddy SP2 catback and call it a day. You'll save a ton of money and only be 10hp less than if you went all out with headers etc. That's my 2 cents.

If you are looking for a quality 2.5 inch exhaust that is not from China, I would suggest the Apex'i WS2 exhaust. However, it is not made in the USA, but rather Japan. As what with others have said, Cattman is the only exhaust manufacturer in the USA.

Why would he need Cattman headers and a Warpspeed Y pipe?

I'm pretty happy with it. For the $175 you can't beat it. It's a little droney since I'm auto and I wish the muffler sat a little more flush with the bumper but aside from that, it's perfect. No problems at all here.

When I install my eBay y-pipe though, I'm changing the muffler. I don't think the current muffler will handle the added rasp very well.
