New prodution for 4th gen Cattman y-pipes

I just talked to the Cattman and he has 2 orders for the 4th gen y-pipe in now(since november) and I would be the third. If we can get at least 6 more we can probably get a production started so who would be interested?

I've heard Warpspeed are no better than the budget ones you would get on Ebay. If I had to get another I would go with OBX but then people say the o2 bungs are off and the clearance is off near the motor mount. The only reason I want Cattman is bc it is DIRECT bolt on from what i've heard(also heard Cattmans aren't direct fit but only on the cat backs). We are in a pickle because Cattman seems to be going down hill on the rumor train and the customer service is bad now as well. ugh stuck here. In reality all you need is the y-pipe here are the prices http://www.cattman.com/prod_exhaust.html. Brian, IIRC, said he would post on this thread to drum up support but I don't think thats necessary. Either you want it and have the money or not.

Warpspeed is perfectly fine and perfect fit.

you know this for a fact on your car Chrisman? I think I found a Cattman for $100 so I might just go with just the y-pipe and trash the headers idea. Opinions on the headers performance is across the board too, just for looks, good gains, no gains, too hard an install(rear) for the gains, etc. Its tough to find definitive answers and personal experiences even though that is the point of a forum but the exhaust IMO is a personal choice.

I personally have helped Ptatohed install his Warpspeed ypipe. Perfect fitment.

You should trash the headers idea if you don't plan to go all out and try to get every last HP out of your Max. IMO, it's not worth the $$, aggravation of install, and minimal gains over ypipe. From my own experience, header install is a pain in the butt (rear like you said).

Yup! Installed one on my old 4th gen. I've got an eBay one sitting in the basement that I know will fit perfect with stock headers as well but only because the previous owner modified it slightly.

I don't have the time or money for a "long tube" header set up. A y-pipe will be good enough for me as it was in the past.

For my end goal the y-pipe will be enough. Later I will add a cat-back to improve the sound or maybe right after. Hopefully it wont sound rear out of the stock cat back

With just a ypipe, you'll hardly notice a change in sound. Again, from my experience.

Once you change both the ypipe and catback do you really get a change in sound/tone/pitch.

I guess thats good to know. Having heard some of the youtube videos(albeit terrible sound quality) some of those almost made me not want to mess with the exhaust at all. My end goal is a stock appearing car that can beat the breaks off a ricer out of say 2nd gear

Looks like I am going to go with a Warpspeed Y pipe....and while we are on the subject of cat backs I have an Apexi WS2 catback and love it.... It's not ricey at all has a really deep/rumble at idle and is quietish up to 3k rpms but once your over that and wide open throttle it gets loud but still sounds so nice and not ricey or raspy at all. I love it because if your driving late at night and need to be quiet in neighborhoods that you can just stay under 3k and keep it resonable but then when you want to show off or whatever and romp on it it really sounds great.

If it were today, I'd pay the 350 for a Y-pipe. But if this will go down in September, or October, I dunno.

I think there is a production run for headers and y-pipe combo, and that is about $850 plus shipping, for which I don't have the budget.

Drop me a line (pm)
when you have the other 9 buyers for the y-pipe.

I have friends with Warpspeed Y's, and they don't have any problems. One friend has one on his 3rd gen and he's had it for years. He now has over 300K on the odometer. Not hating on Cattman, but if it's priced right i'm sure he can get a batch sold without having to be on a waiting list until our next President is elected.

I just installed a Warpspeed Y pipe on My 99 Cali. Perfect fitment and no issues. (Knock on wood).

It came with all the gaskets and bolts and pretty good instructions. Dallas is always pretty helpful if you have questions.

not knocking the cattman, but I too have a warpspeed y. My whole exhaust system was rusted to sh*t, but the warpspeed installed without a hitch.

Sounds more like some Warpspeed lovin' to me. Kinda wish I had burn money and I'd get a Y from them right now.

When I do decide to get the exhaust done on my car, it's going to have a Warpspeed Y-pipe/Magnaflow cat, and a 2.5in BRM exhaust. I might get coilovers first, haven't decided yet.
