in a 4th gen....you know, that "break the clip and flip it, it slides right in!" mod for us 00vi guys trying to use 5th gen IACV's...

What if you flipped it the wrong way, could I have caused a short on my board?

i dont think so, dont have much expernce with maximas yet but my 240 was wired for an s13 sr20 when i bought it as a shell, and swapped in an s14 sr20 and put the ecu in it hoping that it would work and it did not, had it re-wired and no problems with the ecu, so the pins where all off i had power to it and nothing went wrong so i think you should be fine.

Shady, you have one of the cleanest and most documented 00vi swaps. I used your pics to get my fuel lines correct. I am sorry that you have had so many silly issues. I have been running the 5th gen IACV for over a year with the only issue being sometimes it acts up and I just tap it with a wrench or something. I will say it could be possible though because the voltage is off from the 4th gens IACV. I am running a codeless 00vi swap using ALL 5th gen parts no EGR however I retained EVAP.

Well...the 5th gen IACV does have the reputation as an ECM frier.

On a 5th gen. Something about poor insulation on a wire that melts and shorts out. Honestly, I'm surprised Nissan hasn't recalled the 5th gens to replace the IACV. Plus, the electronic/hydraulic engine mounts short out and that fries the ecm also.

Sometimes its good to have an older car.
