Some of these asking prices dont seem too insane according to KBB especially the last link with the '95 for $3500.Using the mileage,"excellent cond" and my zipcode came to $3600.

The 4th gen is a very reliable car. So reliable it's boring. If you find one with low mileage that has been taken care of, justifying these prices could be worth it.

I'm just sayin'

seen some crazy price tags on autotrader the other day. 4th gens with over 200k for 7 grand. can get 5.5 with under 100k for that much

I think 3-4k for an unmolested, clean 4th gen that has had all the maintenance done isn't that bad. For every amazing condition 4th gen you see for 2 grand there are 50 of them for the same price that would bring $300 as a trade in. If I wanted to sell my car, which has 172k on the odometer, I would probably ask $3500....but I have lots of time and money invested in it to make it a better than average car.

Sure, you can find a 5th gen for $3-4k sometimes. The car will most likely have been wrecked or need a few thousand in maintenance to get it in good shape. Remember, it isn't the price you pay up front that is important...

Maybe its just CL in general.....ive seen too many cars lately in the 4-6 range with over 200,000 miles on em....and not in the cleanest condition either.

That one looks like it may be worth more than average. Still, he is asking too much though. The problem is that most normal maxima owners (non-enthusiasts) would think that car is perfect. It most likely needs new suspension parts and I bet the VCG are leaking too. The problems with these cars don't go away just because you're the original owner.

Second post.... Those rims look atrocious. Look like he went to the recycling center, bought back some cans, and went to town. And those rims are the finished product. SMH...

It gets amazing mileage because of the ****ed up front driver's side bumper...makes it more aerodynamic, therefore increasing the MPG

I got my 96 Maxima, 5-speed Manual (in the picture below) for $2000 at 198k miles. It had airbag and cruise issues, both of which I wanted and have since fixed myself. I've added 10k miles to it since I've gotten it and it runs like a champ. Those maximas are overpriced.
