Electrical Switch Wiring advice and confirmation

A long time ago I modded my windshield wipers to ones with LEDs in them. YES i know it's kinda ricey but I liked the green "nostrils" on my hood. I am rocking the Deep Forest Green color anyway.

So, I kept getting harassed here in Texas about those lights because Police consider them cowl lights and must be white or amber in color, blah blah.

I just clipped the cord. This cord was run to the fuse box and attached to the Fog light power wires. My fogs still work on their own but obviously the LEDS don't get the power. So my question:

If I ran wires from the cut point into the firewall to my dash on a simple toggle switch, in theory I could oporate the LEDS with the switch as long as I have my FOGS on. Correct? That is if fogs are off, the toggle switch does nothing, but with the power running to the fogs and they are on, the toggle can control just the leds.

This is probably a really simple question that I may have already answered myself but throwing out to the more knowledgable orgers.

So the way you had it before...the nozzle LEDs would only operate when fogs were on correct?

If so, then yeah no biggie to wire in a toggle switch, just make sure the location of the toggle switch is downstream from the foglight wiring, between the wiring and the nozzle LEDs.

And you would only need the switch in the power wire, not the ground, you could just mend that back at the cut point, and route only the power wire (call it the ON) to the simple toggle switch. Toggle on, circuit completed, nozzle LEDs. Toggle OFF, circuit broken, no LEDs. You could probably mount the thing to the right of the dimmer switch too, cutout is already there...

Simple answer, YES.

I would leave the power feed hooked up the way you have it, run the ground wires into a toggle or rocker, and then to chassis ground. This way if the wires short, the worst that can happen is the lights come on. Running hot wires into the cab can result in blown fuses and dead circuits.

Ok cool, just to clarify one more time.
1. leave my power set up the way it is. From my cut point run a wire from my ground to the switch then to chasis.
2. Hook back up and complete the positive at the cut point (not even worrying about a switch). that way the Led "circuit" will be complete only with the ground switch.
3. Flip on my fogs, flip on the switch and shpladow!

YEPPERS.

Run it like that, with the switch to the ground side.

1. Leave LED positive connected to fogs positive.
2. Disconnect LED negative to wherever it was connected.
3. Run LED negative into cabin and to one leg of switch.
4. Run short wire from other leg of switch to ground under the dash.
5. Flip on fogs, flip on the switch and shpladow!
