i bought an aftermarket washer pump today from oriley/checkers. its a black one that had open wires attatched to it, so off the bat i thought it didn't look right... but decided if its not the right one just return it.

took it home and every dimension on it is similar to the OEM one except for the open wiring just dangling from the top... keep in mind the OEM pump comes with no such wires. it has a clip/plug like everything else electronically operated has on all nissan cars. then i found out why.

so im reading through the "diy" instructions on this aftermarket claiming "no modification required" piece of **** pump and the 4th or 5th step in the installation process is: "SIMPLY (yah ****ing right) cut into wiring harness where original plug was and SPLICE X and X wires together with loose wires from new pump!!"

WHAT THE ****??? really? im lost for words. this sounds really retarded. why don't they just build ****ing pumps with OEM female end plugs???

when i go to change a light bulb, i don't ****ing pull the whole fixture out of the socket and tape wires around the bulb directly to my wall so why the hell would they even make something like this???

is there any other brand of replacement that isn't so retarded that is direct plug and play?? if nissan wanted us to hack up our harness every time we replaced something, they wouldn't have made ****ing plugs on them.

I'd return that if I were you.

Head to a local junk yard or pick and pull place. You would be surprised what you can find there. These cars are old and prolific. There were and are a ton of them still on the road. You can find a nice working pump and reservoir for your ride. And the best thing is, it will be OEM

You have what's known as a universal part. The two wires you have to connect shouldn't be a huge issue. Cut the connector off the old pump and splice onto the new pump. Now you have a pump with a plug. If that doesn't work for you, cough up the $$$ and visit your local Nissan dealer or throw an LKQ part from your local junk yard in.
Pretty simple, really.

So your saying there is no wires on the OEM for you to splice in the new aftermarket wires? You should introduce yourself to splicing and basic wiring now because you will be doing a lot of it
