Muffler Question again! Help!

Muffler Question again! Help!

hey i just got my muffler in the mail today its similar to this one :

anyway i went to midas and they quoted me $75 plus tax to put it in which i thought was pretty high. Is it possible to put this in myself? and if that is a high price where have other people gotten their mufflers installed?? thanks guys

Not unless you can weld... $75 seems a little high... try an independent shop.

For a muffler weld, don't go above $40.

Muffler shops don't like people bringing in their own aftermarket goods because they can't take a cut off the part. At Meineke, labor is $55/hr which is high. Still their only recourse for getting a little more $$ is to drag out the time. Something like a muffler should take no time at all to fit and weld. As above, $40 tops... and an independant is better.

i got my fluffler welded on for $60, did a good job I guess...except the hangers are rusting right now!! (scary)

oh yeah, im getting rid of my muffler to get a tunable one...and I dont know what I should do, can a muffler shop create the whole pipe from the muffler to the cat?? how much would that cost?
