Rusted bolts

So, seeing as that I live in the rust belt, i have been coming across lots of rusted/seized bolts. Causing rounded heads and snapped bolts. Rounded, I can deal with, snapped, not so much. Are there any precautionary measures that can be taken if before I start working on something, I believe the bolt is going to snap? Just trying to prevent more pain than nescessary. I am actually wondering if heating the bolt prior to putting a gun on it would make a difference or is pb blast enough 2 or 3 times a week or so before beginning the work.

Pb blast 30 minutes before working on whatever. Anti sieze on things like 02 sensors.....but you don't want things coming loose either so don't pb blast them before you are ready for them to come out.

heating them will def help, just know when to do it. im currently parting out a rust bucket and i find that once the rusted bolt starts turning loose, spray it again with the PB and tighten it some and then loosen it and tighten in a pattern.

buy a troch of some sort, and torch it after some pb blaster or equivalent. I dont even live in the rust belt and mine needed to be torched

I've also had good success with CRC Freeze-Off and inverted air duster cans (cheaper). Alternate them with heat and it helps break the bond. Combined with PB Blast or Liquid wrench type liquids.
