replacing the springs is the most cost effective and reliable way to lower the car. Your ride will typically get more firm. there are other ways like cutting and heating springs but that offers unreliable results and poor ride. I do ot recommend manipulating your stock springs.

OP,

Lemme give you some numbers....

If u cant do the work yourself:

Decent reliable setup, lowering springs: 800-900 bucks

Decent reliable setup, coilovers: 1000 -1100 bucks.

springs off ebay are just fine i rode on some for a couple of years until i bought coilovers...no one here is going to hand you a set of springs or coilovers. you need to its not hard to do, most of here do it, were not going to tell you exactly what you need to do to your car...because it your car. so why dont you search because the time youve wasted telling people on here that their ideas arnt good enough you could have found and bought a set of cheap springs on google or ebay by now

naw remove the old strut and spring setup and put the springs where the spring and strut setup use to be, you dont need the struts, it's unnecessary weight

This thread is hilarious, compress spring with hands lol, first you need to know how low you want your ride to be you just can't buy any springs, every springs has different benefit and there plenty info on her and if you can't find it on here type your question in Google you will just have to read and then ask question and I know you didn't probably read cause you wouldn't ask such question like where, how, why not and such but eBay is fine.

why compress them at all

just hold them real tight, or bear hug them, while your boy uses an impact gun to remove the strut bolt

Ok I think the guy gets the point so lets try to help him now ok? The cheapest route to lower you car is through lowering springs. You can surely find a set on here for a reasonable price. Dont forget about your struts though, contrary to popular belief lol, you DO need them. Once lowered your stock struts wont last long and will need to be upgraded as well. You will also need a spring compressor(which you can rent from the local auto parts store) to get the old springs out OR ELSE YOU WILL LIKELY KILL YOURSELF. Im sure there is a write up on the .org or youtube. Removing a strut/spring combo is essentially the same for every vehicle. The only difference is how they are attached to the vehicle. The 4th gen has 2 bolts that attach the bottom of the strut to the wheel assembly and another 3 nuts on top of the assembly that you can clearly see from looking at the strut towers in the engine bay. brah, you asking questions that have been answered...i learned the hard way. just search on here...

if not that, try my way...i got some shocks off a honda and i cut my springs down to one coil a piece...then from there, after you take off the wheel, just cut the wires that are by the shocks...you wont need those either.
