He should've posted a pic of the spare tire compartment.

Leo_Koneval 05-27-2012 12:33 AM

Wow that car is is perfect condition. Exterior, interior... FLAWLESS.

Seeing a bone stock 4th gen reminds me of when I first got my 97. Oh the warm and fuzzy feeling, good times good times.

EDIT: Yep I still feel like I am going to cry, not the "I am sad" kind of crying. But the "I just saw a girl naked for the first time in my life and I am so happy," kind of crying.

infinimax96 05-27-2012 01:10 AM

That is a very rare sight. The interior looks funky because it's never been sat in. That is a brand new 17 year old car. If only I had the money. I wouldn't think twice.

GGENIUS 05-27-2012 09:20 AM

i dont get how shocknawe sees that the b pillar trim has to be brand new? its new looking but so what? how much wear could be put on those trim pieces from driving it around the block? and the mismatched carpet pieces look like its just mats that he threw on top of the real carpet.

Yup. I recently picked up a California 98 I30 5-speed. NONE of the extra emissions-swirls valves-broo haha of my friend's 99 I30 Cali spec.

So that's how brand new tan interior looked. Refreshed my mind a little lol. Whoever buys it will be incredibly lucky. Well worth it IMO. It's practically a brand new car.

What else do you expect from a Cali car with 10k? I expect cars with 10k to look like this.

than why do i see emission componants on that car that are not on my 95 fed spec...

edit: i took mine off and forgot what they looked like....my bad

I have a 95 cali and a 95 fed spec maxima. The only components you could compare is the EGR system. Fed had the canister under the hood while the cali was at the rear wheel. The one under the hood has much fewer EGR solenoids since its literally under the brake booster.

Its entirely to easy to change the numbers on our odometer. The average person who "drives it around the block" doesn't know where every single VIN sticker is much less what a VIN number even is. I would have to see it to believe it. A few pictures and a description aren't going to convince me its a brand new 17 yr old car with 10k lol

 I live in SoCal, my 97 is Fed-Spec.

Same here, I threw some aftermarket carpets on top of the OEM carpets :D

Not sure I get the Yoskimura sticker on the valve cover. But 10k on a 4th gen is a nice thing to see!

$7600 and still climbing....

I would not buy this car unless fully checked it out in person, and by a reputable mechanic. Pictures can be very, very deceiving. There are a couple of things in the ad that don't add up if you read carefully.

If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

also wasn't the shift pattern on the shift knob have white lettering originally? Doesn't look the same as some of the others I've seen.

GGENIUS 05-28-2012 07:30 PM

its conclusive, this car was built in their backyard.

nsnrider 05-28-2012 08:54 PM

wow, almost 1000 views on that ad. wonder how much the reserve?

hmm ok then..i might have to take a few miles off my car than lol jk

atriuum 05-31-2012 06:22 PM

Bumperz

Back to the top. It's about to go.

How much do you guys think it's worth?

mikeg75 05-31-2012 06:40 PM

I got my '95 SE with almost all the same options (except 6-disc changer) in '99 when the car had 56 K but I would love to drive this car around to see how it runs. I paid $14,200 for my car in '99.

I don't think I'd pay more than $6,000 for this car though. I don't know enough about what parts would wear out to think it would be worth much more than that. Then again, in the SE PA climate I'm in, much more wear and tear is due to the elements, so maybe this car is worth a couple thousand more.

99LakeshoreSE-L 05-31-2012 07:15 PM

Some lucky person finally won. I think this was a good deal. Maybe we'll see em around on the .org

eddie982 05-31-2012 07:53 PM

It's about as pristine as a 4th gen gets! Pics had me gasping, even the lug nuts looked untouched, simply wow. If it drives as good as it looks, that right there is a practically brand new max that time traveled 15 years for the luck SOB buyer. Hope he joins the org.

Phromethius 06-01-2012 08:21 AM

There is something very shady about the images. I am a graphic artist so I notice details usually missed by a lot of people.

One image of the passenger side rear door has a sticker on it the reads : 4DSC backwards as like a vinyl cling. This sticker doesn't show up any other time on any of the shots. But the nature of this sticker means that the previous owner probably WAS an Org member.

Think about it, what old man is going to put "4 door sports car" stickers on his sunday driver? or the Yoshimura sticker on his UIM? This is a rebuild or something. Full restoration. Like wizard said above. Read carefully and you only leave that posting with Questions.

Best of luck to the winning bid though.

ShocknAwe 06-01-2012 09:49 AM

Thats what Ive been saying lol. Im not saying it is not real(even though most likely it is a rebuild) but there a certain aspects of the ad that simply do not add up.

Ggenius, to roll back our odo you simply take it apart. Its cheap plastic and very easy to put back together without notice.

Just be careful if you are bidding guys
