Yea I did everything but the burger. The big "Maxima" lettering is what is not good looking. Leave the burger or better yet paint it all black

Debadge both of them. I also got rid of the trunk spoiler, key cylinder, and power antenna for a real slick look.

did you replace the factory antenna with an aftermarket one or just left it out all together?

full debadge is best for a white maxima. I'm a big fan of full debadge but I pulled badges off of my friends 2001 so I might be putting either maxima or se on my trunk, but with 5th gen badges.

1. Get rid of the burger.

2. Remove the Maxima letters.

3. And this is the unique part.....in the same location put on the Maxima letters from the 95/96 Maxima. Or get some metal cutters and separate each letter from your Maxima emblem.

You'll notice that the 97/99 Maxima letters are joined together. The 95/96 Maxima had each letter separate. A better look IMO.

I had the "naked" all shaved look on my previous maxima....didn't like it. It made tha car's booty look too big, like those previous gen VW Jettas lol

I never replaced the antenna. I have a factory installed BOSE stereo which comes with an antenna installed in the rear windshield. The 2 antenna wires sit above the rear defroster wires.

The Bose cars had the rear power antenna as well. Some one removed it at some point if you don't have one.

Well boys since I manually shaved the power antenna myself I already had an understanding it was there.

If the letters were small like the 5th-7thgen, then I would have no problem with the Maxima lettering in the trunk.

For me its not embarrassment. I am proud of driving a Maxima. It just bugs me that the maxima letters are big. Plus better chances for a police officer to write Altima on the ticket.

Sorry that more of inside joke. One of friends has a civic with a body kit that has the clean look. He says he is always being asked what kind of car he has (like I supposed to be impressed) because its debadged; I sort of kid with him that he debadved it because he is embarrassed that he has a civic.

I guess my post was too wordy..let me try this again:

The 97/99 Maxima trunk letters are joined together. MAXIMA

The 95/96 Maxima had each trunk letter separate. M A X I M A.

A better look IMO.

Try that.
