auto shifter?

auto shifter?

i was wondering if anyone has ever shortened their automatic shifter arm and put an aftermarket handle on it? i was thinking about doing it to mine just for a different look

it's possible, but probably more work than what it's worth because of the way our shifters are.

It's been done. SEARCH.

Levoc was the AT **** for this. You might still be able to find them new. The problem lies in if you have a '98-99, which has a momentary style OD switch vs. the on-off type from '95-97 since most (if not all) aftermarket ***** do not support the former and you'll have to re-wire the OD switch elsewhere.

Outside of using a hacksaw or pipecutter to cut off some of the shaft it's a fairly painless mod to do.

You can replace the auto bezel with a 5spd bezel/boot also.

Sorry for thread jacking .. but I have a black AT Shifter that I want to swap but after I unscrewed it, there are those 2 wires... how do you get them off?

yea but i can put an aftermarket button in for that so im not worried about it.

just pull them off they will unplug somewhat easy. just tug on them

here is another question about an automatic shift assembly. i was wondering if like a 5th gen shifter assembly would fit in my 4th? i know some mods my have to be done but i was just wondering

OD Wire Came Off Easy.... The Other One Is Quite Difficult

I did the levoc on my 98. you are correct on the switch type. I just dont press it down all the way, or i double hit it quick. I just cut the shaft down with a cheap pipe cutter. easy mod.
