Levoc was the AT **** for this. You might still be able to find them new. The problem lies in if you have a '98-99, which has a momentary style OD switch vs. the on-off type from '95-97 since most (if not all) aftermarket ***** do not support the former and you'll have to re-wire the OD switch elsewhere.
Outside of using a hacksaw or pipecutter to cut off some of the shaft it's a fairly painless mod to do.

just pull them off they will unplug somewhat easy. just tug on them

I just cut the shaft down with a cheap pipe cutter. easy mod.
