RTH: Driver side axle installation help

I am trying to replace the driver side axle for my 95 max (auto-transmission) this afternoon. The old axle came out without any issue. However, I can get the new axle seat all the way in. I even remove the struts to make the room, but just could not get it in. What am I missing? The new axle is from raxle.

Advice appreciated!

Edit: Took the clip off and tried both old and new axle. The old one slide right on, but the new one just doesn't want to go in.

Thought that I might get the wrong one from raxle. Went to Advance Auto get another one Parts#: GSP NCV53531. Took the clip off just to be sure. It still not goes in. WTF... Could it be that the early 95 has odd ball spline?

From what you are describing, I am going to assume you are having problems at the tranny side. If so, inspect the clip at the end of the axle. Try to close it up by squeezing a vise grip or pliers on it.

I was so frustrated and tried again with all clips off. The original old one slide right in. But the new replacements (both raxles and advance auto) do not slide in.

They dont normally (well for me) go in smoothly. Always have to do some tapping to assist it.

Success! Thank you, thank you. You guys are the best!

I was so afraid of tapping it. You really have to tap it and tap it hard!!
