People with springs/stock struts + Front lip...

I have B&G's on stock struts and I smack the bottom of my bumper at least once a day. Today several times. Even if I go 1mph over the damn gutter/curb/whatever it still usually smacks. I **** everyone off behind me too. I have a $tealin' front lip i'm getting ready to put on. I have a feeling this thing is gonna get chewed up BAD. My question is, how the heck do you lowered guys with lips manage to keep those things in at least "soso" condition ??

I think it's a technique thing, from what I've heard. You have to get really good at taking approaches on ramps/driveways at the most extreme (off-center) angles possible, to allow the nose to rise up and away from the obstruction (inclining surface) sooner than it would with a straight-on or less "angled" approach.

Truthfully though, if your nose is below a certain height, there's almost always SOMETHING you're gonna scrape, no matter HOW hard you try to avoid it. That's the downside (pardon the pun) of lowering!

P.S: Still trying to decide on the B&G's vs. the H&R's. I think I want the B&G's, but I'm also trying to get info. on the Apex springs, as well. Decisions, decisions.

I think you are right. Hopefully some aftermarket struts set on the stiff setting will make me absorb the bumb and not bottem out as much as the cheep stock struts I have now.

BTW, KWheelz, the B&G don't sag, but the back springs sit a LITTLE higher than the front. I am automagic however so that might be the reason. It is maybe .25 of an inch difference, not noticable unless you look HARD. But it looks sporty, and I guess you could say it's the opposite of sag. The ride is unbelievably smooth and it will cut your wheel gap by 2/3rds. I didn't notice how bad our gap is until I looked at my sisters stock '95 GXE....seriously almost as high as my dads explorer.

Hey Craig...

If you think you're bad off with a lip, you're wrong. I will hopefully get one by March (maybe a whole kit), and I know I'm gonna scrape the sh*t out of it. This is a pic of my Max without a bra I especially dug up for you, and look at how much clearance I have. If I add a lip I will be under 4" to the ground . I love Sprints and they look sweet, but I'm worried about how the body kit is going to affect it. This is why I'm waiting to see what the new kits look like, and see how low they ride (remember they are all bumper replacements so they will hopefully not be too low). Anyways good luck, I hope you don't scrape it too much. And post some pics when you get it done!

Sheesh, I know, huh? Craaayzzeee gap. It's like the Nissan designers lit up the crack pipe at 4:55PM on a Friday & put the fender/suspension design together.

Btw, good luck w/ the new lip!
