If it has got to a point nothing can be done. Start off with a hard cut polishing compund and build your way up to a fine cut and then clay, polish and wax. Where in ATL are you?

the only thing you can really do is try getting your car cut and buffed. unless its already started peeling, in which case youd need a re-clear atleast.

cant "get rid" of oxidation really, cuz oxidation is "gettin rid" of your paint.

My car has a 3 inch diameter rust hole on the door and a slightly rusty fender. I used some black nail polish and nail polish clear coat to cover it up, not even close to perfect but it stops it from spreading and (from afar) it looks wayyyyyy better. thats just because my car is black though.

I actually had this question too. If it is OBVIOUS that the clear coat layer is gone but the paint has not rusted through can it be salvaged with a "re-clear coat"?

Also if it has a large portion of that cloudy white fractal painting area on the roof, is that only the clear coat or is that damaged paint too?

to your first question, its tough to say. normally if your clear is peeled the **** off, its because of faulty prep work, or not enough clear to protect from UV rays. and if you just sand it down and try and reclear, you can have problems with it peeling in the future.

if its just getting oxidized on the outside but the clearcoat isnt actually GONE, then its a lot easier to fix with a refinish or possibly even buffing if its light enough.

I told them to look over the car for safety for my daughter and son and here's what they came up with. By the way, I love cars but I can't work on this one because I live in a community that doesn't allow car repairs in the parking lot.
Here's the list from Nissan:
1) front brakes with rotors and hardware kit, $390.00+taxes with aftermarket rotors, $550.00+taxes with all factory parts
2) cam shaft sensor leaking oil, $170.00+tax
3) water pump leaking, $650.00+taxes
4) left cv axle needs replaced, right axle seal leaking: $510.00+taxes
5) valve cover gaskets leaking and power steering suction hose leaking: $830.00+tax
6) drive belts are cracked, front crank seal is leaking: $350.00+taxes, both lower motor mounts broken: $575.00+taxes

I just can't afford all of that right now. My brother said they may be trying to upsell me on some repairs.
So any local advice on honest and reliable repair shops would be appreciated.
Thanks all I'll try to post photos later Friday. Bye

RAPE!

Find a local mechanic...nissan is killing you on OEM parts costs and in-house labor. All of the above shouldnt cost more than $1,000
