How do you guys keep your Y pipe gaskets sealed properly?

I seems that everytime I replace them (which as been around 12 times now), they always leak after riding over hills/bumps/pot holes that twist the chassis around.

Whats the secret? Am I getting the wrong part? My choice were the ROL type from Oreily's, that are thicker than the Fel-pro type. But im up to my neck with these things...such a ****ty design. It seems like they always get warped unevenly inside the gasket groove from heat/torque/unknown.

I tighten the bolts one at time @ small increments to get a even press. But even when I replace them, they're always warped/uneven/un-parallel to the flange at certain locations of the gasket groove.

Worn motor mounts can also cause the exhaust to shift around excessively. Wouldn't hurt to check that out.

If any of the flange mating surfaces are not flat, the gasket will blow out at the weak spot.
I had to replace my main cat just recently because of this.

... ugh they're supposed to be metal lol. Only on a scooter will you see a non metallic exhaust gasket. You shouldnt be replacing it so many times, I have whatever warpspeed gave me and they work fine. Id go with oem... then follow tbehr's suggestion cause that's really excessive gasket wear
