whats the problem

Wats up members, my water pump went bad the car overheated! I changed my water pump and tensioner, I changed the oil, added coolant but now on start ups I'm getting a lot of white smoke our the exhaust and the temp needle still hits the H! A mechanic said to change the oil again and the smoke will clear. I still don't know why I'm running hot. Any and all advice is needed. Lets keep makin them faster.

The white "smoke" is steam. You have a blown head gasket.
