cracked radiator support

wow! was it a nissan lower support? that looks like a cheaper aftermarket one and doesnt even appear to be strong enough to hold up the necessary weight with such thin metal. If the shop you had perform the work provided the support I'd take it back asap.

yea i had bought it from rockauto... guess ill just buy the nissan lower support and weld that on. Would any of you guys know if that can be rewelded or it wouldnt be recomended?

I don't know much about welding but I doubt thats enough metal to weld. I've purchased lots of parts from rockauto but I wouldn't dare get that cheap radiator support they have up there. go to nissanpartsasap.com and get a quality lower support. I think I about 130 for mine and shipping was only 12 bucks.

if you can unbolt the part that snapped off, then yes you should be able to weld it back on and itll probably be way too strong in that one part now and itll just break again around the weld.
#10
so are you saying i shouldnt just get the nissan lower support? And get the whole thing instead?
#14
No the lower support isn't bolted, it's spot welded in. It has to be cut out and a new one rewelded into place. Make sure you get a Nissan OEM one.
#16
what? no. i was just saying that the broken off metal COULD be welded back on. im just saying its physically possible. dont do it though. replace the cheap crap tinfoil thin reinforcement you have on there with quality OEM high strength steel.

Yea what imma do is just get the OEM nissan lower part only since the whole thing is out of my budget at the moment and I dont want to keep driving around with that thing broken like that
