1996 code 1136

1996 code 1136

i have a 1996 with 110k..getting code 1136, replaced both crank sensors last week, and the code came back on today...any ideas...

I tried to look up the 1136 code and it is not listed. Did you get this 1136 code from the CEL light blinking? There is no P1136 code either.

Maybe you should take the car to an auto parts store and ask them to read the code with an OBD II reader.

The code is for the flywheel sensor, so how clean is the engine in that area? A bad sensor will cause hard starting - were you having this problem?

Since you have replaced the sensor, try inspecting the wire harness for damage, especially at the sensor plug area. Also, make sure that the inside of the plug is clean, no oil interfering with a good connection.
