I Love my CAI :)

Ive had it for almost 1 1/2 weeks and the difference is great...The increase in low end power is significant enough to notice and the sound she makes at WOT is awsome...I cant get enough of it My car is soo much different to drive cause now when I shift at low speeds (if someone is in front of me) the power is there its hard to explain just get one and you'll know what I'm talkin about

Hmm, is it just me or has everyone started posting about CAI's after my huge thread on it?

No matter what people say, I've got to believe the CAI is like an exhaust: the major benefit is the sound--the gain is too small to really feel (compared to stock)--At least for 4th gens. I definitely can feel the gains of a Y-pipe but adding the CAI:

If you drive a 5sp.....the choice is yours

If you drive an auto......DO NOT buy just an intake.

It would be nice to hear from a 5sp owner that has made the switch from intake to CAI...................anyone....anyone Bueller?

i have a 5 spd, i have the place racing CAI, ill be honest, i think us disconnecting the ecu and resetting, plus the fact that the comp has to readjust its fuel maps now, it was struggling bad to the redline but i notice each day its getting a lot better, it should take a full gas tank for everything to readjust, but def has low end power, and a great sound at wot, but does struggle to the redline now and then, compared to stock box

Yeah. I've had one since summer. I like the noise and all, but the way people are hyping it up of late, you'd think it comes close to Y-pipe gains--which it doesn't. Aren't we talking like 3-4 hp with the CAI (on a good day). I am also talking from stock perspective and not from the pop charger where the low end may have really hurt you. If you think CAI is all that, then wait till you bolt on that Y-pipe, Craig. You will be singing some halleluyahs...

Yea. I know the 20HP K&N and all them boast about is hogwash, but I was thinkin like 8HP outta this ??

Well the effects may be a little shady with the CAI, but will I REALLY be able to feel the effects with the Y-pipe?

yes, and the range ive heard for the cai is 8-14, esp if the franken intake gets 10 and its not even cold air

i came from stock, put on CAI, ecu is still adjusting i think cuz first nite it struggled to redline and since then has gottan graduall better, def low end, weak high end, but gettin better, like everyone says though, its more sound then speed, but its a must have, y pipe is in the mail, and next has to be variable intake, that would top it off

That doesn't sound good. I've never had any problems with the revs after the CAI install. Baring a CEL condition, there should be no reason for sub-par performance you can actually feel/see. I hope you didn't accidently traumatize your MAF.

As for HP gain, according to reports on the org, the Y-pipe with CAI gains some 12-14hp. Quite frankly, I am surprised the FrankenIntake gained so much but I'm sure this phenomenon is exclusive to the 5th gens.

The Y-pipe will bring back your top end. CAI and Y compliment each other so well

You are definatally not ready to install it. The hole consists of a

3.25 hole saw
-drill but for that saw
Strength! Its gonna be hard cutting through metal, and the hole likely will have ruff edges. We used a rubber circle thingy that come off my stock intake peice and it made the CAI fit snug and perfectly. We woulda been ****ed without it..
