What controls the indicators

When I put on my indicators and turn, in the past once I turned and the car straightened out, the indicator would turn off. I am noticing more and more that when I make a right(at least I am more aware of it then) the indicator remains flashing.

Is there something on the steering column that controls that? It's just a little annoying.

Thanks,

it's the actual turn signal swiitch iirc. Go to a junkyard and source a new one. 97-99 are teh same, do NOT get a 95/96, will not fit.

It is normal sometimes. There are pegs on the back of the steering wheel that contact the switch. If you turn a very wide arc (turning left onto a 4 lane) the signal will not cancel due tue the minimum movement of the steering wheel. I experience this every time i drive through a particular intersection driving home from work.
