Power steering fluid filter

Any one ever installed one? From what I've read, it virtually eliminates pump and rack failures.

not me, but should be easy to install.

My only concern is starving the pump of fluid since now u are introducing a flow restriction that nissan did not account for. And depending on the screen size the pump may not have enough "suction" power to work properly.

my .02.

Have u noticed metal shavings in the reservoir or is something wrong?

No, I have no problems but I've been seeing threads lately about racks needing replaced. The return line to the reservoir is still being pushed through by the pump, its just not under pressure because there is no head. I just thought it would be cheap insurance.

Had the rack replace a few years ago. It was leaking like a siv, as well as the pump. (113k miles at the time)

The pump has quieted down a bit over a year, and I use synthetic atf for insurance.

Wish the reman'd pumps didnt whin so much.

Metal and rubber from the system itself.

and if you are changing regularly like you should?
You change your engine oil regularly, so I guess you don't need an oil filter then?
