rebuilding engine
I have a few problems with my max like a main oil pan leak and probably a water hose. I also here some wierd noises when my rpms get higher as i drive as if something was loose and shaking or like a low tone growl but not really that loud? Should I rebuild my engine, and just replace and try to find out the problems? I have a 97 GLE.....What should i do? If i do rebuild i would probably rebuild it to make it stronger and maybe get a 5spd conversion or vb mod. Is there any other thing to do to make my engine better than average????
Sorry so long......
Thanks
Chris

Don't you mean rebuilding your transmission perhaps? From how you are describing it, it seem like it's your tranny that is going not your engine. I'm thinking about the same thing. I am planning to get a Level Ten rebuild on my automagic tranny.

Just fix the Main Oil seal...and that extra noise could be from something lose. Get it looked at ! Dont rebuild your hole engine for a $25 seal(All labor to replace) and a bad hose ??

I have about 74000 miles, I drive my bar pretty hard.....It seems like something is rattling or loose. It only happens when i'm in gear and at low rpms when i start to take off at but i don't put down too much gas...
