Few Questions to the PROs....

Hello, I have few questions and hoping someone can help me... I have a 98 GLE and has 60000 miles on it. I wanted to improve the ride and got Tokicos shocks, courtsey FSTB, and Addco rear sway bar. Now have few more improvements to make with little money, cause I am broke for time being.
1. I have 98 GLE stock rims, can I put 225/60or55/R15 tires on them or can I only use 215/60/R15. i mean i dont care about the height cause the car is not lowered. is the rims wide enough to handle 225 safely.
2. The car felt very old and used before, now after changing the shocks it runs much better, but one thing is very suprising, my car runs very very smooth at times specially if it has been parked for more than a day, absolutely sound less and smooth like a lexus. and on bumps I dont feel any body noice. but at time the car bounces more, and can feel the body noice and also rattles ,more like from the dash or front suspension and even engine noice is more, (not abnormally more)... Cant understand why is this, has occured with my privious cars also. is it because of temperature differences affecting the shocks. or may be engine vibrations are less so smoother... anyone has any clue...
3. Last question is that , I also had a 2000 Jetta GLS VR6, was a owesome car , but had to sell it since my wife wanted to keep the car with more space. Now my maxima's steering is so smooth and soft, has no feel for the tires or road. its considered good in a luxuary car, but since I was so use to feel the road and hard steering of the jetta that I kinda miss it. Will changing the tires or doing something else make my car's steering stiffer or tighter(heavier), or have more road feel( I hope you guys know I am trying to say) its like I turn the steering and there is a lag in cars turning, and then when the wheel turn there is no pressure change in the steering, may be its too powered. is it only with GLEs. please help.

I hope this helps you out junaid...
1. I think the 15's are 6.5" wide, so yes, you can do 225's. You might consider getting 225/55/15 instead of 60 though. Either way, the speedo will be a couple % off - 60's will be too slow, 55's will be too fast. I just think 55's would look better.
2. Maximas rattle.
3. a) My car corners much better now that I have Koni/Eibach, but I can still steer with my pinky. That's just the way the Max steering is set up, and it's not just the GLE, I have a '99SE-L
b) Getting fatter tires will help cornering. Theoretically, since you'll have more rubber making contact with the road, you should get a little more feedback, but I don't think you'll notice it alot.
c) Look at the Bridgestone Potenza RE730's and the Dunlop SP8000's - excellent grippin' tires (as long as it doesn't snow where u live).
d) Maybe a good stiff front sway bar would help you out. I don't know of any available (you'd have to look pretty hard for one). Also since a stiff FSB would give you plenty o' understeer, it's prolly not a good idea for a FWD car. Yeah, never mind the FSB. I never mentioned it.
