like what amount of hp 60 or so? I am talking about without any mods not even an intake

Dreizehn Jan 9, 2002 02:19 PM

40% of 190 = 76
:D

Correct me if I'm wrong, Stillen says 80hp.

from what research i have done a SC'd max with y-pipe is about 235 HP and 240lbs TQ.

I dyno'd at 171 hp and 181 tq .. so the math equates to 64 hp and 60 lbs tq.

i think 230 FWHP is reasonable

That's a higher than normal #... 160hp is more typical but it depends on what dyno...

So, then wouoldn't it be cheaper to just instal a NOS kit? Are the gains almost the same?

Last I checked I didn't have to refill my supercharger like all the bottle babies.... :D Lifetime supply of boost, vs. Limited supply of NOS. You run out at the wrong time, and it sux to be you... Me, I 10 PSI all day long. Not to mention the cool Blow Off Valve sound...

Take that Sprite...

SLC I30t Jan 10, 2002 11:06 AM

when they advertise the hp, is that fwhp or flywheel hp??

you think i am going to disagree with you? even though i will be much slower by going boost hp gained on boost for hp gained on NOS.. paying $70 to refil two bottles every week is not exactly fun..

Plus it is right off the lione. You dont have to wait for RPM to get to certain points before it kicks in.

Someone lied to you... boost is not right off the line unless you are launching like a maniac... remember the Vortech SC stillen uses is Centrifugal, meaning boost builds as the RPMS rise. Right off the line? Yeah if I clutch dump at WOT.

Between 65 and 80 hp's but you should get the ECU put in at the same time so you can really get pushed back into your seat :D

Do you really think the ECU will make that much a difference... I don't think so. What you want is the ECU to adjust timing, allowing the car to run a little safer. But everyone is entitled to a theory. I wish I could get an ECU to retard timing... I would be in heaven.

MardiGrasMax Jan 10, 2002 02:47 PM
