been a while since I've posted here but I have a question about emissions in CA

Basically I modded my car about 4 years ago based on advice from this website

I did many things, including the install of an NWP spacer kit and an aftermarket Ypipe.

I recently moved to California and am having trouble passing emissions.

Is there any possible way to pass emissions with a 97 that has an aftermarket Ypipe installed?

Would the NWP spacer kit affect emissions?

There's no way you can pass with an aftermarket y pipe ur not allowed to remove any precats the only way to pass is not "legal"

Where about are you in Cali? An yea ypipes aren't smog legal in Cali unless you get lucky, if you still have the stock ypipe swap it over if not hit the classifieds

Where in CA are you? You should have posted this in the West Coast Forum...

Yes. I bet your cat is bad and needs replacement. What were your readings? I have 3 Maximas with just basic bolt ons (including ypipe), and I know others here in Socal with ypipes, and we all pass emissions.

Besides, in my 20 years of getting cars smogged, no one asked or even looked under the car for ypipes or the sort.

Nope.

Do a good tune up, and report back with your numbers for further guidance.
