ok guys. I need to know what mods i will need in a 5 speed max to beat out an Audi A8. so far i am auto , but getting a 98 or so 5 speed in a couple months. What model should i get (which ones dont have speed limiters. i know GLE's do , but what about GXE and SE ?)
i have so far (on my auto, but will be transfered)
Cold air intake
Y pipe
straight pipe (no cat)
Cat back
intrax springs
17x7 katana Concept 5
yokohama tires
front strut bar
rear sway bar.
What will i need in terms of power to smoke this rich jerk whose mommy and daddy bought him an AUDI A8 for his first car, my gf told me he had it , because he goes to her school, and she wants me to rip him up. and i want to also, so what do i need guys... help me out.

 

1st things 1st. . .

He owns your a$$ at the launch, no matter how you mod you Max.

You simply cannot get past the Quattro-drive's superior traction from a dead-stop. That's not your fault; that's not Nissan's fault. It's just like comparing apples to oranges. Even if the A8's a stick & he's a $hitty driver, he's going to be able to put more power to the ground than you, starting off. Period.

Beyond that though, I'll leave it to the import drag-racers on the boards here to tell you what your magic bullet is. . .

I know the launch isnt my strong point in the race, but i just hope i can pull it in like , the 2-3 gear range.

 

Doh! Thanks for helping me see the light. I wasn't sure if there was a manual option available on the current A8. A friend of mine owned a 5-speed A8 several years ago and that car pulled like a '***** & stuck like glue. Very nice sound from the engine while inside the cabin, too.

 

Even stock you will win. They're 0-60 is up there with the 5spd Max, but they're 1320 is in the low 15s. A Y-pipe may help with the low end power, but you don't even need that (even though you already have one I know).

Glad to hear that you are not getting an SVT.

 

You could use Nitrous and Supercharge yours to be sure!

 

Only GXE's without C&C are limited...GLE's have no ristriction.

My GLE had a limiter on it .... it had cr4ppy wheels/tires though. so im not sure /...
