Should be a good race though, so give it a try
The '95 stang has the 4.9l v8 (dunno why they call it a 5.0, 'cos it's only 4.9, but who's counting?)
The place at which you butt will be whupped with glee is when you leave the line. The figures are;
Mu Ma
Hp 215 190
Tq 288 205
Wt 3350 3086
Hp/Ton 141 135
Tq/Ton 189 146
Looks top me like he'll leave you a couple of cars behind off the line, and you don't really have the HP to catch him at top end. You only saving grace is that you can rev it out to nearly 6k where he probably only winds out to 5-5.5k. If you can sustain you max hp for longer than he can, you may get him back.
I would probably put my money on the Stang.

I raced my buddy in a 91' Mustang 5.0 and I figured I would win...I was stock 5 spd when I raced him and he was auto, had an off-road H-pipe, No cats, 3 chamber flowmasters, and a K and N flowkit they sell for those things...we were head to head all the way through my 1st gear then he pulled ahead through 2nd everytime time..We raced like 3 times and the resultes were the same
I should have won
I should have won

Uh, Both are Automagics, doesn't require any skill.
Just bustin' on you.
You should give him a run for the money, I do think for that year, it was a true 5.0 litre. They didn't go to the other motor until '97. Also, I think the HP rating was 225, with tons of torque. But the auto's were alot slower. If it was a 5 spd, he would beat you.

Funny. Really funny. Anyways I don't think I'll win but I am going to try. Maybe he'll get alot of spin and I'll be lucky. I knew those things were fast up to 60, but the manual's 1320 is only 15.2, so I though the auto would be SLOW. Guess I was wrong

It should be close...
I was dead even with an older 5spd 5.0 up to about 70 mph...
...then a truck swerved into his lane, forcing his front tires to leave about 100ft of black stripes on the pavement...

- if it's going to be rounded off then it's should be rounded to 4.9, but Ford decided to round it up to the nearest litre instead.
(Marketing!) Heck, why not round the 351W to a 6.0 instead of 5.8 (5752cc)?

ive raced mustang GTs autos and 5spd, one of the older ones auto, one 99+auto and one 99+5spd. i only raced the 99+ 5spd from a dead stop, but that doesnt count....we both sprayed, but he sprayed 100shot vs my 60shot so i lost. the other 2 mustangs i raced from a roll, and i won both times. from a roll about 40mph on, u shouldnt have a problem, but from a stop, he'll get the launch and u wont quite recover.
