straight pipe from cat back

i just put a intake on my max and was wondering if a straight pipe from the cat back would be a bad idea i figured that it wouldn't be as bad as running a full straight pipe with no cat just want to give it a nice sound

..and im new to the site didnt set up everything yet so bare with me

Well, in the process of disassembling my catback to put the new one on my dad cut the old muffler off at the flange for easy removal and the new B-pipe for the catback is 3 inches to long and wont fit. SOOO, im now driving around with my stock catback minus a muffler until the new one comes in. The stock B-pipe has a pretty big resonator and it still grumbles loudly so long story short, straight piping back from the cat would be loud as crap.

Glad to help

Keeping the cat is important if you don't want to throw codes and pass emissions, but if you dont mind loud, go for it! It will rumble nicely.

Are you using 2.5" piping? Welding or clamping? What exhaust tips?
