Brake light on some times, not others.

I had to park the Max (A 1999 Max SE stock. 222,800 miles) for a couple months without driving him, with the parking brake engaged.

Now, that he is fixed (radiator cracked at the 220,700 mile mark), I am finding that when engine is cold-the brake light is illuminated. But once the he is warmed up, turned off then restarted--the light is not illuminated.

This is inconsistent though--sometimes when the engine is cold-the light is not on. At other time, it is.

I am feeling nothing in the brakes themselves--they emergency stop and regular stop just as they always have. No grinding or seizing at all. It is just annoying the light is on.

Any ideas?

Check the brake fluid level? If it hasn't been replaced for long time, I'd try to replace it...

Fluids expand and contract as the temp changes.
Your brake fluid is low.
Don't just add fluid, check your brake pads. The system is designed so that as the pads wear, more fluid is taken up into the caliper. When the pads are at their lower limit, the fluid will be at the lower limit in the master cylinder.
