Variable Intake From Roadbeast Has Arrived

Just wanted to let anyone else who was thinking about buying one know that Roadbeast did ship it out as he said it would. Theres not much else to say at this point, I can confirm that it does line up perfectly with our throttle body and lower intake. I know everyone probably wants more information, but I will not have this on my car for at least several weeks . I really dont have all that much time right now to work on the car, plus I need a new front valve cover, and have to put the injectors back on before I can even get to putting the new manifold on, but of course I will keep everyone updated. I talked to a few others from here who might be buying one from Roadbeast, and they might end up getting it on their car before I do. Also I would like to thank Roadbeast for making this part available to everyone here, he was great to work with.

How much does this thing cost and exactly how many horses/torque does it give you ? Is the power down low (off the line) or up high ?

I hope it works with little modification

I will definately have one if it works with not many problems and decent gains.

check out the names

Why does coolkid and roadbeast alternate between upper and lower case letters in their names? Could the same person have typed both names? This is the type of thing that makes you say hummm?

You guys should have bought the intake when you had the chance! Who knows if Roadbeast will ever be able to get more used ones, and even he does, how many used ones can he possibly get considering he said he has to get a whole engine used just to get the peice. Looks like me and Mardi got lucky

By the way who is that guy at the back of my car, and what is doing to my car

Dammit, he sells it RIGHT AFTER I get a job, and the National Gaurd ain't the type to give me a triple advance......correct me if I' wrong, but this bolt-on will (or rather, SHOULD) show gains equal or higher than a Y-pipe?

If so, we should look into fabrication. It would be a big price up front, but maybe it'd be worth it.....

No one knows quite yet. Road Beast's car, a 4th Gen Max NOT made for the US, has 220 HP stock, with that very manifold that Coolkids has. Turns out that Nissan always had variable intake manifold for the 4th gen Max, but for some reason, the US version never got it. The New Zealand, Australia, and Bahrain Maximas have it, and probably a host of other countries, too.

The Test is to see if the manifold will work with minimal modifications on our US spec 4th gen Maximas. If it does work out, then it will address the 4th gen's main weakness, falling off power up top. Just imagine, every mod you've put on would benefit. Top speed would rise from Nissan's quoted 137 mph to at least 145 mph, STOCK. With CAI and Y pipe, jeez, we could even give the 3.5 VQ a run for its money, especially considering the power/weight ratio.

This is THE MOD bar none for the 4th gen.
CoolKids, I'm rootin for ya! Give us somehting to celebrate!

I dont know now accurate this is but Im pretty sure that Jeff92se posted that Japan, Australia, and Britain spec maximas do not have the variable intake. So I guess its only New Zealand and Bahrain that are confirmed. Id like to know where else these where offered, it doesnt seem like Nissan would bother with a whole different manifold for what would be small markets of New Zealand and Bahrain.

If it works send that Intake Manifold to Cattman and see if he can do anything with it. Maybe put something into production so we won't have to buy these overseas.
