so i happy with my 4th gen now for...?

i purchased a 4th gen 97 gle black on tan 6 months back. carfax certified 82k miles 1 accident no major" girl said parking lot fender bender." for my fiance. i have done all the proper maintence on it and i am really impressed with the maxima.
im gonna start driving it and buy a bit newer nissan maxima or infiniti i30/i35 for her.

i have been researching VQ30DE-K and VQ35DE

i could imagine the VQ30DE-K being great as its a beefed up version of what i have ,and im pleased with. but, the bigger VQ35DE is tempting aswell, but the oil burning and other issues ive read about on here make me a little hesitant.

which would you 4th gen max guys recommend?

3.5 swap a 95. /thread

lol but the de-k has some issues supposedly. Some have deemed it the "redheaded stepchild" of maximas. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything other than a 95 or a 5.5 gen.

VQ30DE-K is not a beefed up version of the VQ30DE. It's more like the same engine but now with a better breathing top end due to the variable intake.

Add an 00VI to a VQ30DE and voila: kaizen.

Keep in mind that the 5th gen is a bigger, heavier car than the 4th gen. So the 5th kinda needed to go to VQ35DE because of that.
