What brand windshield should I get

I have 2 huge cracks going across my windshield and finally have some funds to get it replaced. I've been doing some searches but haven't found any recent posts so not sure if anythings changed. So from what I've read PPG or OEM used to be the go to brand. I spoke to an auto glass shop today and they said PPG got bought out by PGW and now they sell china made crap. He says they used to use PPG but once they got bought out he started selling pilkington glass. I've done some searching and it looks like Pilkington is a good brand. He wants $255 for it and I'm located in Phoenix, AZ. Anyone have any recommendations or opinions?

Thanks

Nissan doesn't make glass, they build cars.
I have PGW in both my Maxima and Explorer. Absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Just had Safelite replace mine. Set me back $240 and they did it in my driveway. Don't think it really matters when it comes to the glass as long as it comes with a decent warrantee.

$240 - ouch, I paid $180 for each one I replaced. Cash is king. Call an independent guy, not a chain.

My options are limited where I live. Two independent shops, both quoted over $260. Safelite was the cheapest option for me, unless I wanted to grab one from a junkyard and do it myself... but I don't trust myself that much.

I've seen a safelight guy install a new one in a honda by himself. Its literally 5 mins of work.

Difference between a Honda and a maxima

Op: glass is glass. Just get whatever is cheapest. Or, if you have full coverage insurance, just file a claim

disagree that "glass is glass". Optical quality, hardness... it varies. Talk to someone who has no interest in selling you anything, like a local body man who won't be doing the work.

Pilkington is good stuff - it's OEM for a number of manufacturers including upscale Euro makes.

PGW glass was PPG as noted before but it is still fine. We have PGW in the Xterra and it is perfect.
