I thought about it... and then 2 seconds later, realized that it would be easier and cheaper and less headaves to just go buy a 2K2.

Don't swap the whole thing, but I'd like to shake your hand if you try this:

"I'd like to know whether the VQ35DE crank and rods are interchangeable with the VQ30DE parts. If the answer is yes, 4Gen owners have a wonderful opportunity to stroke their engines using factory parts. That's not going to get you a full 260 horsepower, but it could be a low cost and completely concealed power enhancement." - Daniel B. Martin

Read the thread here http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=48465. The discussion about this starts a little less than halfway down. I think it would work, although I haven't researched it any farther than reading the above thread.

Later

ps. please, please try this

I've pondered it..

I've had a serious discussion on the board about doing it and will most likely be doing the engine swap this summer if all goes well budget wise...but you never know what unforseen finances might come up that need the money I'm preparing to us...and that is also if I don't have a problem finding one in the junk yard because buying one from the factory is going to cost way to much money. But it is something that is looking really promising. But in the meantime I'm going to most likely be buying the variable intake manifold to give me some extra horses.

Can anyone confirm that the crank and rods would fit? Anyone with a hookup at a Nissan dealer? I believe that this is the best option because the two parts would cost much less than swapping the entire engine. Labor would be pretty expensive tho...you pay to play I guess.
