Rack and pinion boot

Just replaced my drivers side rack boot and the end that goes on the rack itself is a tight fit so i couldnt get it to go on. Any secrets to getting this thing on

I used WD40 when I did mine about 4 months ago. Did another max last week and used a heat gun to warm them up and they just slipped right on.
