Brake help!

I am trying to get my caliper off of the rotor of my wheel but it won't "slide" off. Any ideas why it isn't? 97 gxe auto no abs

Okay so now the 2 caliper bracket bolts won't come off ( 2 19 mm bolts) I've sprayed endless amounts of lubricant while beating my wrench with a hammer to loosen it up but it just won't give. Any suggestions from the experienced seniors here who have had this problem?

I do not wanna use too much unnecessary force (jumping on the wrench) because I'm only supporting the car with a jack and no stand. (Due to rusted radiator core)

you can put the jack stand under the bracket that holds the LCA to the body.

I used an air wrench on those 2 bolts, they were really on there.

Use the correct tools.
6 point 1/2 inch sockets on the thrust member bolts.
You'll never get them to budge with a wrench.

Soak the bolts with PB blaster over night. Get a breaker bar and correct sockets. Should be cake after that.

Funny that you ask that question. I redid my entire front brake system after passenger side was wearing unevenly due to a worn bracket. Look at my bolts after 18 years and 328K later..

Bought new ones from dealer. I would have people who haven't removed that bracket in a while to inspect this and prevent a disaster..

I never actually thought about that, but now that I see your bolts I'm sure mine look the same even though I have half the miles you do. Thanks man, that's why I love coming on to this site, people like you that are kind enough to help out with each others problems, WITHOUT being an A S S H O L E like a lot of people I see on this site.
