95 Max trouble

I have a 95 GLE. I posted pics in the past and have no answer for this one. There is a brown soleniod next to a green sol. That is missing a harness. I recently replaced a missing knock sensor and still have lots of drivability probs. I've done a major tune up.The only codes its pulling are upstrem O2 and 4th gear shift probs. I haven't seen an good routeing digram for my emmission and fuel system as they don't seem to match what I have or don,t have. The car is NOT a California issue. as the purge is not installed. The car runs fairly well then all of the sudden I have a power loss the ussualy a big loss of fuel you can see being dumped into the emmission system then out the tail in a cloud of light blue expensive cloud. Please any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking IACV with the Upstream O@ and possibly a ne fuel pump filter as it s never been changed. HELP

Check the FSM (Factory Service Manual) Go to:
http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Nissan/Maxima/

Choose your year.

Click EC for emission diagrams.

FE for fuel diagram.

Go to a junkyard and get your harness, or ask people in the classifieds. You'll then have to splice it back to where it was cut from.

Odd that fuel is "being dumped into emissions" but sounds like your car has been hacked up pretty bad. Do you smell fuel from inside the engine bay?

In the thread that you started on 3-27-2013, I posted a diagram from a service bulletin that showed Purge Volume Control Valves for the Cali spec and Fed spec cars. You have a Fed spec so your car should have the valve shown on the left side of the diagram. In that 3-27-13 post, the photo shows 2 studs with nuts on them above your finger. That is where the Purge Volume Control Valve goes. Did you remove it or is it missing?

I just noticed you have 5 threads all about the same issue.

Inconceivable!!

One thread is more than enough, and creating thread after thread about the same thing will NOT earn you your answer.

What you are calling the brown solenoid is the EGR & Canister Control Solenoid Valve. You need to find the harness connector that has 2 wires in it, a red/yellow stripe and a blue/black stripe. I don't really know what color the plastic connector would be. Since this valve isn't hooked up and working, I would expect you should be getting a P1400 DTC check engine light code.

I just worked a mess load of solenoids and codes, and to give a little further clarification the connector should be the same color as the solenoid plastic. Brown with Brown, green with green.

OP needs to run to a junk yard and backtrace this valve and get the wire from one. By the way, these are found on I30s too. I have a few extra valves but no wiring. :/

OP your lucky these are the easy to get to ones. There is an EGR valve near the engine block thats a BEESH to get off.

So the Brown Solenoid is th EGR. I have looked in the area very close no harness as you describe. There is a harness over this spot that connects the other the Solenoid. There is a short plugged two wire connection there iI suspect could be it but then the rest of the harness would be missing.
