Fuel injector cap necessary?

I bought a kit to change the o-rings on my fuel injectors but it did not have the end cap piece:

The end caps were are broken or cracked when I removed the fuel injectors. Do I need the end caps? I am not able to find the part online or at a local store. If I do need the end cap where can I find the end cap?

Here are the o-ring kits that are offered at rockauto.com

Thanks

Actually you can get them seperate but not at the dealer or any local parts store. I bought a 00vi lower with rails and injectors and they didnt come with a single pintle cap. I searched and searched and finally found out where.

www.injector-rehab.com

Shoot them an email and tell them you need pintle caps for whatever year your car is. That's what I did and they emailed me back which ones I needed and I received them very quickly. Nothing but good stuff to say about them.

As long as you matched the caps up by looks you'll be good. Glad I could help man. I was freaking when I thought I couldn't get new caps and I was gonna have to toss out 6 perfectly good injectors.

Just as an FYI, the dealer does sell them separately as I ordered one before. Can't remember price but it wasn't much.

Interesting because I went to my local dealer and they told me I was **** outta luck. Basiclly I was told the only way I could get them was $173 per injector new.

Whoever told you that is not a parts person..utter bullcrap because the injector does not come with it and it doesn't come with o-rings which is what pisses me off. I know this because I bought three of them at $120/piece and swapped rear 3 injectors to not go back under UIM for a few years.
