oh man i need brakes

Well i need new brakes. Im follwing my mother to the auto repair shop that she went to when she was in her accident. Come to find out that her axle was leaking fluid (or something like that) and she needs a new one. Supposedly it was rotting and what not. Well as we pull in the lot the manager is out there and heres this ticking coming from my max. As i come to a stop is slows and then grinds to finish. I asked him "Did you hear that?" He said yea, its just the sensors telling you your brakes or low.

So basically now i have to purchase new brakes. If i was to purchase stock, how much would i expect to pay? I do plan on upgrading to a better brake kit but can't afford it right now. Plus I don't know how long i can go without getting new brakes. I don't want to mess up my rotors or nothing like that.

Go to your local auto parts store and pick up some pads. Expect to pay around $60 for for all four for the top quality ones.
