Symptoms of bad ecu

The symptoms are hard start meaning excessive cranking, rough idle in drive which dips too low around 500rpm and makes car shake badly, rough shifting in first gear.

No there are no codes just those symptoms because I changed my ecu from a 97 maxima to a ecu from a 98 maxima and it works and starts perfectly now and there are no more rough idles and rough shifting and the engine sounds much more smoother.

be careful, the New ECU could still be "assessing" your car and hasn't altered any sensors or timing or whatnot. It's been said on the forum more than a few times, the ECU is a VERY RARE problem. They don't usually go bad. Did you recently do some sort of swap? This tends to be the most likely time ECU issues arise.

I have a current issue myself I cleaned my maf, and throttle body and the rough idle went away for "awhile" and now my intermitten idle is back no codes of course..I have a technosquare ecu that is i dont think is the issue from what i read and learned is could be your IACV which can get clogged.

glad you posted results. Ignition coils will not always give a code to let you know it is going bad. They can be tricky S.O.Bs.
