If you only want to know what the timing belted car does just before time belt breaks, I had one time experience on my 86 Sentra. It didn't feel it doing antthing abnormal, just suddenly broke. Tried starting the engine again. It just turned but never started, like running out of gas...
when the engin is cold it tends to vibrate alot and latly when i warm up my car the first stop that i make the rmps drop and the car vibrates i put the car in neutral and and then drive again the car goes back to noraml?

when i start my car.. i hear a metalic noise.. like that of a chain .. but its not loud.. the sound is new.. not sure if the timing chain is touching something... it's only got 38k on her....

Try around $1,000 and you may as well replace your water pump while you have everything apart. In the manual there is no maintenece window for the TC so it should last forever

There should be a red dot on the idle adjustment **** to help you know where it should be set. There's another **** forget what it's called but it raises your rpms when you initially let off the gas and then it begins to drop. I'll find out what that **** is called and then post again. But maybe someone else knows the technical details of how that works. My mechanic adjusted mine for me when I told him about my low idle shuddering problem.

Agree ....
I have this occasional idle problem also. The idle drops down to about 525 in Drive. I cleaned the TB and it didn't help. But, it did fix the cold start problem. My next step was a PCV (unlikely) and then clean the Idle Air Control Valve (guessing). Now I'm waiting for my Max to get out of the shop after being stolen and recovered.
Cleaning the TB is easy and worth a shot.
doesn't sound like a timing issue, follow everyone elses advice with the throttle stuff. Timing chains are pretty reliable, but i've broken more of those then i have belts, however, i replaced belts as required wear chains just go till they decided to snap. Under normal driving conditions chains do just fine, the motors that i've built myself in the past though, i broken them like dental floss. When a belt starts to stretch with age, your timing will be affected, the engine won't seem as peppy, this also happens with chains. I've snapped a belt on my old mazda truck and whoever said they were'nt hard to change is really full of it. I did mine and it took me the better part of a day, i'd say atleast 500 at a shop probably more with todays ludicrous maintenace costs. I do everything myself though and haven't seen a mechanic in a long time.
timing chain
your timing chain is maintenance free .. should last as long as the engine lasts.., it does have a tensioner which needs to be tightened say after a 100,000.If you hear noise or vibration when the engine is cold.. it's the timing chain for sure.It should disappear when the engine warms up.
also, u can use 10W-30 oil to reduce this noise.. take care to warm your engine sufficiently before you rev up.
Cleaning the throttle body may help...but i don't know how?
take care,
jay
