I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but I'm new and don't know how to research old threads. How much more noise, i.e. whine or just loudness, does a Y-pipe add? I have a catback and CAI and it's pretty loud as it is. I really don't want to add too much more. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Some pipes claim to be quieter than others, is this the reason?

 

If you keep stock muffler, there will be ZERO noise increase. I have had my Cattman Ypipe for about a month now, and there is no noise increase with the stock muffler.

 

That's the thing, I already have a Comptech muffler and custom cat back system. It's pretty throaty already.

 

its going to be loud!.....but i think the intake will drain out the noise of the Y pipe
