95 Maxima dragging when foot off gas
Hi! I love my 95 Maxima. Very few problems so far. However, suddenly, and I mean, it didn't come on slowly but in a flash, it has slowed down noticeably when I take my foot off the gas pedal. Dragging. When accelerating it sort of jumps a little bit into second. Besides the transmission, what could this be? I thought a busted axle but had that looked at as car made a kind of a clanking noise when I stepped on gas pedal. He said bearings were bad. Also, I have two bad CV boots, but he does not want to replace them.
Mechanic does not believe in my 95 baby, and wants me to put an end to it. I can't. I believe in this car. I think she can keep going. Best car ever made. What can I do? How can I keep her running? Mechanic really bad diagnostician and does not have a feel for the car. I've been driving it for 15 years, and I know when something is not right. Help!

Your axles are most likely shot due to the broken boots and the CV joints going dry plus getting dirt/debris in em. A tell tale sign is that clicking noise and/or vibration on acceleration. It can happen on turns as well.
Take your car elsewhere ASAP. Find a mechanic who will do what you need done, not tell you the wrong thing and refuse to do work.
