Rear Main Seal Test ???? would it work?

So I got my new Lsd tranny in, new clutch, rear main seal replacement, motor mount replacement. My question is, would it be ok to put the starter in, fire up the car and let it run in nuetral (without the gearoil) to test the rear main seal for leakage? Maybe rev it a bit? If it does leak then this will save me from pulling the axles back out, draining the gear oil, etc.....

I ran mine without gear oil in neutral after i rebuilt my transmission. I don't think it will really hurt it to do it for a few seconds, but idk about revving it up and such, because even in neutral your input shaft is still spinning.

If you held the clutch pedal then you would be OK to do what ever you feel.
