would a car lift cause this?
i was cleaning out the car today and when i lifted the right side small mat out (rear) i noticed the floor had a hump in it about an inch higher than it should be. i know that wasn't there back in august when i vacuumed out the car, so would a lift cause this? it looks like the width of a lift, but only in the rear?? ideas??

Has your car been on a lift since August?
I assume it's def possible, especially depending on the type of lift. But you would have to **** up pretty royally to do that.
Have you looked under the car? Probably a good idea...

Id assume it could, raised humps im your floor dont magically appear on their own. And yeah that being said the guy operating the lift would have to be an utter idiot to botch that one.
You havnt done any "offroading", accidental or otherwise, have you?

doubt it, ive lifted many old rusty buckets on hoists. you can see where other people have lifted the vehicle on the edges, all that happens is the edge sinks in a bit from being soft. usually then you have to lift the front on the frame and rear on the edges. especially if it was in the rear, i doubt its from a lift

only thing i can think of is the car was maybe rear ended at one time and a bit of metal crinkled up. potholes rarely do physical damage beyond bent wheels and wearing out suspension pieces
rust shouldnt bubble up a inch, my old Nissan pickup had a rusty floorboard. the floor stayed flat and just ate away until there was holes everywhere

Its possible. But who ever lifted the car would pretty much have to do it on purpose, and I have seen blown struts, cracked wheels, blown tires, and bent control arms, never seen damage like that from a pot hole

well, i looked underneath the car and there's a dent, ( very small ) and it's right underneath the seat. don't know if it was from the lift or something hitting the underside or if the dent is supposed to be there or not. ( factory ) i guess i'll have to take a pic tomorrow so you guys can see.
