Very High Idle After Timing Job

Just finished up replacing the rear timing cover o-rings and timing chain tensioners.
Reset ECU. Started up fine. Loud engine noise, as expected. Idle'd at about 2k.
After probably 30 seconds the idle started picking up to about 4k RPM on its own. Turned off and added fluids which were low from the initial start-up. Tightened up IACV screw as much as possible. Started it, RPM's climbed, little over 4k from the get-go. I let it sit there for maybe 30 seconds before turning it off.
I had no previous codes before the job but It's showing code, P1335.. Crankshaft position sensor.
I've been at it all day, and would have continued troubleshooting on my own anyways tomorrow but can't hurt to ask the .org!


I'm no mechanic, but it's not good to have the engine idling that high, especially on a cold engine, correct?
Tomorrows plans...
-disconnecting the throttle cables/TPS/MAF In hopes that the RPMS will drop.
-Test/troubleshoot the CPS sensor
-I have my battery on trickle charge as well as I've read low battery could have an affect.
-Adjust TPS resistance if needed.

Anything helpful information would be greatly appreciated!

Did you touch the intake at all? Valve covers? Manifolds? I don't think there's any vacuum lines in that area. I also don't think the engine would start if the timing was off a tooth, or would it? The first thing I would look at is the engine timing, especially being your getting P1335

If timing was off a tooth you wouldn't have spark in probably two or more cylinders. I'd look at the IACV and throttle body.

Sounds like a BIG vacuum leak

Valve cover crossover breather hose?
