For 17inch wheels what spacers would I need?is it 15mm or 10mm and how big the tires should be I was thinking 235/45/17 with a 2.0in drop in the front

Nobody can tell you what you need without knowing the size of the wheels and the offset

Do all Maxima OEM wheels have the same offset from 5th and 6th gen? I heard someone mentioning that these bigger wheels damage the wheel bearings much quicker and wanted to verify that.

Post the specs of the wheels (width/offset) and we can help from there.

But if they're OEM Maxima 17s, I imagine you needing 25mm for the rear and 15mm for the front (at least).

Currently running 17" stockers off '05 G35 coupe with 225/50-17 Hankook Ventus HRII H405. No handling issues, other than the front passenger tire slighty rubbing the plastic panel in the wheel well when making a hard (all the way) left. even with the diameter being around 3/4" bigger than stock. I'll have to see if I can hunt down the width and offset to give you an idea.
